About the role of the Officers for equal opportunities for women in science and the arts at the Faculty of Business, Economics, and Law
Promoting and ensuring the integration of gender equality is a key cross-departmental task at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. FAU makes an active contribution to significantly increasing the number of women in leading research positions and ensuring that women reach their full qualification potential.
At the Faculty of Business, Economics, and Law, the role of the Officers for equal opportunities for women in science and the arts is set out in the target agreements for increasing the proportion of women in academia between the Executive Board and the Faculty of Business, Economics, and Law, which are currently valid from 2023 to 2027.
The target agreements focus on supporting women in career levels where they are under-represented. They are based on the structural and personnel equality standards of the German Research Foundation (DFG), statistics from the faculties and departments and a cascade model. The legal basis is Section (3) 2 of the Basic Law and Section 4 (1) of the Bavarian Higher Education Act. The target agreements are subject to general voluntary commitments to the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts (Innovation Alliance) and the German Research Foundation.
